The Astrological Map of the Psyche

Psychology and astrology are maps with which we can understand and explore the human condition, and glimpse into the mystery of human soul and its development.

The natal chart - the astrological map of the exact time, date and location of one's birth - is the mandala of the personality. It reflects our wholeness in potential.

It is our life's task (individuation project) to bring as much our natal chart into incarnation as possible - that is - our personality is also the path that our lives take. Our character is our fate. At first, approaching astrology can be as daunting.

However, Investing in an astrological session will make it much clearer and the relevance to the daily challenges in your life.  By looking at the natal chart and the current placement of the planets, it is possible to hone in on particular psychological issues with greater clarity than by just working with dreams or other psychotherapeutic tools.


Astrological Readings by a Jungian Analyst

Astrological readings from a Jungian perspective embrace the alchemical notion of “as above, so below”. This view suggests that we can not make a distinction between our inner world and our outer reality, and assumes that the smallest thing in the universe is subject to the same processes as the largest thing. The world that we live in can be best described as a field. Everything that we experience whether it comes from us or not can be seen as a reflection or mirror of an aspect of our inner life.

Astrology is used in the analytic / psychotherapeutic practice for those clients who are interested in the link between what is going on in the stars and their inner lives.

Astrological sessions are also available for people who are interested in an astrological consultation with a Jungian orientation. 

An astrological session will involve an in-depth look at your birth chart as well as important influences currently affecting you right now and in the immediate future. Interpretations are oriented toward personal development, psychological growth and individuation.

I studied astrology at the Faculty of Astrological Studies in London England and with Liz Greene through the Astrodienst seminars in Zurich Switzerland while I was training to be an analyst at the C.G. Jung Institute. I was a featured speaker at the Northern New Jersey Astrological Conference where I spoke on Jung's life long fascination with Astrology. I have also lectured on psychological astrology from a Jungian perspective at Astrology Toronto and at several Jungian societies and training institutes.

I have taught Counselling Skills for Astrologers through the Canadian Association of Astrological Education and developed the course Archetypal Studies and Astrology at the PhD level Glenn Perry's school.


Fees:

One hour astrological session = $175.00 including HST of 13% (effective July 1 2011)
One and a half hour astrological session = $225.00 including HST of 13% (effective July 1, 2011)
