"Neurosis is always a substitute for legitimate suffering "
C.G. Jung Vol. 7
"The dream is a little hidden door in the innermost and most secret
recesses of the soul, opening into that cosmic night which was
psyche long before there was any ego consciousness, and which will
remain psyche no matter how far our ego consciousness extends. "
C.G. Jung Vol 10
Jung believed that it took a certain moral
courage to confront the unconscious. You can benefit from a Jungian
analysis if you believe that your spiritual journey is connected to
your psychological process of healing and discovery, and if you have
a sincere desire to become more self-aware.
People enter Jungian analysis for a variety of reasons. For some,
the decision is brought on by a life event that has had a
particularly dramatic impact on one's sense of self and that they
feel needs to be explored in a deeper way. For others, there is a
feeling that they are out of touch with themselves or that they have
betrayed themselves by taking a certain path or direction.
They feel
that they are somehow not living the life they are suppose to be
living and feel lost in terms of how to return to the path. Others
feel disenchanted with traditional clinical psychotherapies and
medications, and seek an alternative approach to their feelings of
unhappiness and suffering. Some just want to know more about
themselves and the reasons their lives have turned out the way they
have. They want to engage in what Jung called the "special act of
reflection".
